AC/DC Rock legends have revived last fall’s “Black Ice World Tour” with ideas to hit stadiums and arenas across the US this summer.
The veteran rockers will begin the American trek July 28 at Foxborough, MA’s Gillette Stadium after wrapping up a thorough in-progress European leg at the end of June. The US outing is currently booked through a Sept. 8 performance in Anaheim, CA. The full itinerary is below.
The summer run comes on the heels of the October release of “Black Ice,” the band’s first new studio effort in more than eight years. The new album made history, debuting at No. 1 on the album charts in 29 countries including the US, with stateside sales of more than 780,000 copies its first week. The record became Columbia Records’ biggest debut album since Nielson SoundScan sales tracking began in 1991, according to a press release. The successful first week was quite a feat, considering the album is sold exclusively at Walmart, Sam’s Club and via the band’s website.
The rock icons kicked off the initial leg of the “Black Ice World Tour” last October, marking the group’s first live performance in five years. The long-awaited trek posted sellouts in 18 major markets, prompting encore performances in several cities, and broke sales records at a handful of North American venues.
The “Black Ice” tour’s October 26 debut in Wilkes-Barre, PA, fascinated fans from around the world. To celebrate their dedicated fanbase, the band created a seven-episode web documentary chronicling various attendees of the trek’s opening night. Two of the seven episodes are available now at ACDCFannation.com, with one new episode unlocked each Tuesday through May 12.
